At Kent Canoes we aim to give the best service we can when it comes to buying your paddling equipment. We also understand that people like their boats with certain bits and pieces fitted to them but cannot always fit them themselves due to things such as time or lack of tools to do the job! That is where we come in!

Kent Canoes offers a range of fitting options that you can add to any Open Canoe that you purchase from us. We will also offer the same services on Open Canoes purchased elsewhere, though we do ask you contact us prior ordering any outfitting for a boat we don't stock so that we can make sure we can get the right parts for you boat.

We offer the following:

Lacing - adds extra fix points along the length of your canoe as well as holding your end buoyancy in place. Includes 5mm chord for each end, PVC tubing can be included for £25

D-Rings & Straps - an additional way to secure your end buoyancy in place via the means of two d-rings glued to the base of the canoe by which straps can be attached that run up to the grab handle of the canoe. includes 2 x small d rings on vinyl pads and a pair of small straps

P-Clip Lashing - an alternative to the lacing for holding the end buoyancy in place, involves p-clips being riveted subtly into the underside of the gunwhales at each end. (Does not include parts)

Kneeling Thwart - fitted in a 'standard' position, this addition will give you an alternative solo paddling position within your canoe whilst allowing you to kneel with putting additional, and uncomfortable pressure, on your ankles. includes kneeling thwart kit

Painters - these will require the addition of end grabs as a fix point but come as a length of 10mm floating rope 1.5 times the length of your canoe. (sold per end)

Third Seat - fitted in a 'standard' position within the boat with the option of each a standard webb seat or a extra wide webb seat.

Deep Dish Yoke - the fitting, in a 'standard' position, of a deep dish yoke will firstly enhance the look of your Open Canoe but will also add a more practical element as it distributes the weight better across your shoulders when portaging the canoe.

End Grabs - this is the fitting of the small loops of 8mm rope through the hull of the boat at each end. (sold as a pair)

All items fitted in a 'standard' position can be moved to a preferred position on request. If you wish for them to be fitted in a different place please send us an email following your order.
