Terms and conditions
About us
Kent Canoes was set up by Grant Scamell - BCU Level 5 Coach, in 1993, and we have been trading for over twenty years. We specialise in supplying canoeing and kayaking equipment to the General Public, Schools, Outdoor Centres, Scout Groups, CCFs, Cadets and the Armed Forces. Our aim has always been to provide the best possible advice and service backed up by our high level of knowledge obtained over many years of trading, coaching and paddling.
We are one of the largest specialist retailers in the U.K. Our shop covers an area of thousands of square feet, and is crammed full of canoes, kayaks and sit on tops.

In the unusual circumstance where a product is no longer available in stock we will contact you to arrange a refund, exchange or advise of the delivery delay. Please always ensure that we have a contact telephone number as well as an email address so we can do this.

The prices on our website generally give a 10% discount off RRP.
If you would prefer to visit our shop rather than purchase on line, you can get the same discount by signing up to our Customer Loyalty Card Scheme whilst in the store. There is a small charge for this which just covers the cost of administration and the card which you will be issued with. The Customer Loyalty Cards are valid for two years. BCU/Club members also get a 10% discount off RRP in the store.
Any other discounts shown on our website from time to time are always applied to the RRP of the product.

Where you are requiring an exchange we will charge our usual delivery charges. You are of course most welcome to collect your goods free of any carriage charges from our shop if that is more convenient.
In the case of warranty returns this charge will be waived as long as the returned goods are clean and free from dirt to comply with current Health and Safety Regulations.
DVDs and books are not returnable unless defective.
All of the above does not affect your statutory rights.
Deliveries
We generally aim to despatch goods within 24 hours of receiving you order, with the exception of orders received on Friday P.M. (afternoons), which will be despatched on the following Tuesday as we do not send orders out over the weekend and are closed on Mondays.
Some items, such as Royalex and composite canoes, cannot be sent with a carrier as they may get damaged in transit. This may involve carriage charges which will be agreed prior to delivery. If you collect the goods, any delivery charges will be refunded.

Although we try to pick our carriers carefully, we cannot be held responsible for the performance of the carriers. We can provide consignment details or tracking numbers on request.
On delivery of your package, please check packaging to ensure that no damage has been caused during transit. If any damage is visible, sign as “received damaged”. If the goods are damaged you are within your rights to refuse the delivery and ask that the goods be returned to sender. It is your duty to inspect and confirm that the goods are in good condition before signing.
